Eyes are the windows to the soul
Most avoid contact so you can see
Some put them on display for a dare
Others are naive and don’t know
A room full of partying people
Sitting, talking, laughing, dancing
Begin by watching the body language
They are telling their story, if you can read.
Listen to the words, showmen sell their goods
Inflating their worth for their oversized ego
Trashing the ones they like to step on if need be
Fake smiles at everyone that may get them what they want
Dancing is their interview
“You’re so tall, you’re a real man”
What do you do at work? Bet you make a bundle.
Where do you live? What’s your car like, sexy I bet.
His eyes kept lying, she is working tonight
Her eyes want love; her mind wants luxury and fame
Suddenly see spots an old flame across the room
He is loaded and is sitting alone.
As I am observing, a sweet smile asked me to dance
I hesitate, she feels rejected, I see tears.
I look into her eyes, see she’s needing a friend
Sure I’ll try but lets go slow.
“Why are you here?” I asked
Trying to have a little fun and see where that gets me
Can I just look into you eyes: I am not a stalker
She dropped her face, which is where my secrets hide.
Look into mine and we will be even, how about that?
Fine, but be prepared. Love, honesty, desires
A beautiful young girl afraid of being in a grownup world.
I want to help; I want to be your guide. Trust me?
We slowly made it back to earth after that dance
I saw something special in her soul.
I need more of the truth in her eyes
I believe in love again, does she?
Months past as we became one heart
She would have never caught me without those open eyes
She confessed she had felt my soul in my eyes that night
So today we make our lives as one and our eyes filled with love.
Thanks for attending our Wedding Today
