Every time I bake
I scare a mouse
And it runs past me
From behind the stove
It rushes and then
Disappears you see
It scares me and
It makes me mad
I have set up
Lots of traps
But nothing happens
It is laughing at me
So I give up

Sometimes it is just best to think of them as a pet and give them food and water. There is something healing about caring for the displaced creatures of the world and perhaps once you have done this, your little mouse friend will return an act of kindness to you and move back outside..of course, you could encourage him by moving his food dish a bit closer to the door each day until it is outside. Very cute poem and picture, Lynn.

Here is what you do Lynn. When you set the trap put the trap in a corner against both walls. Then put a brick, or a heavy box at least 8" tall or something against the long side of the trap that is open.(or without a wall) The mouse then doesn't have time to beat the trap with three walls. Guaranteed to work. Try it.
