We spotted a nest
We watched it until
It slid down from its spot
And we wondered
About the spill
We tossed it in the grass
And went about our day
A week did pass
And what the hay
Another nest was
Built in its place
Another nest occupied
The original space
A mother robin
Flew over our heads
As if to scare us
Away from her egg beds
