Trudging through mud and sitting for twelve hours...no thanks
To hear my hubby talk about
His opening day of hunting
Sent shivers up my warmed up spine
His muddy walk of nothing
At least it seemed that way to me
One doe is all that he did see
He sat for twelve hours
Not in a tree
But camouflaged and comfy
Content to sit and look around
Happy to just wait for the sound
Of an unsuspecting deer
That might cross his path
Even when it did
His gun stayed fast
Beside his chair
No adrenalin flare
No shotgun fired
Just a day of shush
He's the same old guy who
Can go fishing much
And never get a nibble
And still want to be
Out there forever
But forever is not for me
It's boring as boring
As boring can be....
-I can sit at the computer for as long...hunting for the right words... and he thinks that's boring...
Hi Lynn, didn't get home until now 3:30 am, finishing a job up. I've hunted for 6 years now. Got a 120 lb. doe in 98 and a 110 lb doe in 01. I quit, it's a waste of time and a lot of luck to ever get a deer. I put corn and a salt lick out. I've never set more than 3 hours in my stand. I get all cramped up. What's funny on the first day, I'll hear, boom, boom, boom, looks like they would target practice before the season starts. Many of those idiots, shoot at anything that moves. No, the computer is not a waste of time. Lurve ya cuzz.........Ron
