Kids say the most wonderful and sincere things...enough to fill a book. This poem is one of many of those clever stories that a child has given me the privalege to hear. I asked her why Mr. Glenn was in the bathroom, she explained that he had the toilet tore up everywhere and she was asked to go to the big girls bathroom down the hall. To an innocent Kindergarten student, this was a big secret!
The Big Secret…
You know how children love to have a secret? They can’t keep it, And are anxious to pass it on. On the way in to school yesterday… the cutest little blonde girl smiled at me…and said… Mrs. Bowling I have a secret. You do? I teased in a playful way. Do you want to know a secret about the Janitor she smiled? After pretending to give it a moment of thought… why not indulge me I replied. Mischief could be read in her twinkling eyes… looking carefully to the left and the right and the at me… softly she spoke cupping her hands to her lips… she began… You know the Janitor Mr. Glenn? Yes, I nodded trying hard not to laugh. Well, she said lowering her voice yet softer, He…well he… I began to wonder maybe, she did have a really dark secret. He, he goes in the girls bathroom she giggled.
Kids are wonderful. Their imaginations are surpassed only by their delightful sense of adventure, humor and mystery, as you've pointed out here in this charming poem, Joyce. Well done, my friend!

Kids do have a way of saying things and sometimes its a dark secret..... I hope thats all he does.. But I do like the humor in this one... Kids think different than us.. I remember My sister use to tell the kids she was headed to bed and taking off her face.. Well those nephews of mine had a flashlight and stumbled into her room after lights off they wanted to see where mom kepted her face. LOL>>>>>>>
