Unique Relationship.......
A day of many mixed emotions,
one of sadness, yet one of delight.
Why is it time stands still, yet flies,
as passing days turn into night.
Honor thy father and thy mother,
the ten commandments plainly state.
How does a child honor,
those parents filled with pure, vile, hate?
Learning the teachings handed down by God,
finding love and compassion warms the heart.
A life long quest begins early on,
to teach others of their worthiness in part.
Family gatherings with Aunts and Uncles,
to share this special day with dinner and cake.
Seems like such a lifetime ago,
now walking away with only memories to take.
To embrace a new life many times over,
matters not whether children or furry friend.
Life in general is what you make of it,
see all the beauty that lies beyond the bend.
Feathered friends nurturing their young,
teaching how to forage and fly from the nest.
Mother bears and cubs, female dogs and pups,
share a common theme to teach their best.
Deer and fawns, bunnies with their young,
young mother and daughters, mother and son.
A unique relationship handed down,
through the archives of time with each rising sun.
For all species around the world,
attention is paid to the next generation.
To the future of all a dependency evolves,
anything less would be condemnation.
Fond wishes to all this Mother's Day,
as we gather together embracing the new.
Remembering all who are since long gone,
accepting this path, following through.

Honor thy father and thy mother. The word honor simply means to respect or regard. I used to think honor was to listen to your parents whenever they'de tell you to do something. But, to respect or regard is different.
Anyway, you have written a thought-provoking message here.
I think even if we had parents who were vile and full of hate, we should continue to respect them as our life givers. Christ died for our sins; if He felt that way about our sinful, vile nature, we'd all be doomed to death. :o)

Love the picture. So cute! The second verse of this really got to me. It held a question I've often asked myself. In the end, it does come down to compassion and forgiveness. Yet, we never forget. Love and Hugs,

Inspirational and uplifting as your writing usually is, a positive and joyful view of the world despite its pain and obvious shortcomings.
