of present times and times of yesterday
and active soldiers

Oh, my goodness. You pen a strong one, my dear. Memorial Day should be every day, not just on certain days when convenient! It's so much more than picnics, days off and sales. We owe those who've donned the uniform EVERYTHING. And you've started with this write - thank you.

It's sad that so many people see Memorial Day or remembrance day as just a day off.

Karen this is as fine a tribute to a Nation and the men and woman who built it through blood, sweat and sacrifice. It salutes the men who gave their lifes and offers the children of tomorrow a look back and a look ahead at what others have done and now what they can do. If there was ever a more publishable Memorial Day piece I have never seen it. I am not an American, I am Canadian but reading this I also felt a great sense of pride in both our countries as two sibling countries who both grew up together though taking different routes. Well done and please submit this to magazines and newspapers for it is worth sharing with all.
