In looking out from within,
I sustain what lies herein.
Holding to my rightful dream,
and attacks on my self esteem.
My future trembles of past
emotions which are broadcast
by societal jaundiced view
and narrow minded taboo.
Here am I, locked in shroud,
prisoner in the mental cloud,
of bigotry, blind to worth,
denounced, damned, because of birth.
By appearance, therefore am?
No, sight cannot judge and damn.
Books give no indication
of inward inspiration,
til open cover reveals
what thwarted vision conceals.
My image corrupts your view,
by reflecting back at you,
jaded belief in mankind,
exposing your tepid mind.
Man becomes invisible,
distantly divisible,
by using appearance for value,
and what you abhor.
We loosened the fettered chain
of your ignorant, profane
belief, black can't equal white.
We claimed our God given right.
From Colored, Negro, Blackman,
to African American.
We sought to remove black skin
from the rot your mind sits in.
When a man's eyesight has died,
a blessed heart opens wide,
removing the angry slate
of a blinding visions hate.
In blindness, observe a man,
as only the sightless can.
We defied a tradition
of supremacy position
men have held, to humiliate
and forever subjugate
women.
and on and on and on
Whatever your own bigoted position
Close your eyes and see

Ah ha, you are, as suspected, a canard. Earlier postings of great humor have gathered the followers who can now appreciate your real talent; social commentary of unique slants in direct paths taken.
This is one of the best revelations on prejudice ever written for human contemplation.. Stated in plain talk, it is homey, and deeply steeped in wisdom and conviction. My highest compliment is yours, good friend and fellow writer.
