Alcatraz in the distance

~*~

When married clowns
With gifts of gold
Cannot stay happy
In their fold

When people of faith
Play unfaithful games
And have no shame

If those you admired
Turn out to be tired
Old ashes with no fire

When you get a lemon
But lemonade
Cannot be made

When there's
no ointment
for disappointment

When those you thought
Enlightened are sadly
Searching and frightened

Go to San Francisco
Play with gulls and sea lions
Get back in touch...;-)

Oh it's been a long time. About 35 years to be exact. Had wonderful times there. Oh those Sausilito summer nights...Your advice is sound, Eileen. We renew ourselves in nature. Enjoy!

I happily travel to San Francisco to play with gulls and sea lions, quite frequently, even when I'm not bummed out or disappointed - it's a magnificent place to play - but far too expensive a place to live!

I can understand the "getting back in touch" theory, but I'll pass on going to San Fran to get it. Actually I had some very nice times in that city many, many years ago, but today? Naw.

Eileen,

A joyous renewal of spirit...the beach is a healer. :) Isn't our Creator glorious! He knows what will soothe the tormented mind. Thank you...you've been in prayer today.

I call it insurance eT. When we think life sucks...go to a place where inspiration and dreams keep you caught up in life. It's renewal...like this great poem.

I used to spend most weekends on the Warf in Monterey, Ca. feeding the sea lions. The pelicans were kind of scary though, they would swoop down on you and steal your food or the food Ihad for the sea lions and gulls. FYI Pelicans are really big, strong birds...smart too, they knew calimari from french fries...LOL and bagged mine more than a couple of times. A change of scene is often a good tonic for disappointment and broken dreams. I hope you are well.
Take care,
Sherry
