Poem Artwork

Amidst the seasons variations
Clandestine colors emerge
Almost as if to outdo one another

The burnt sienna beauty of fall
Gives crimson foliage a setting
Making lesser colors green with envy

Bursting on the scene like cinematic stars
incandescent hot pinks and passionate purples
vie with outlandish orange and sunburst yellows

Sun sparkles in crisp refreshing  air
Bringing the coruscation of colors to life
Until the harvest moon bids day goodnight

This is a beautiful poem and as you know, autumn is my favorite season. There is something fulfilling about the harvest, all of our labors come to a marvelous crescendo and families gather to take the bounty of the season and put it up to sustain life through the hard times of winter. It is a time of reward for a job well done and a time for anticipating the aroma of a pie baking on a snowy day, a time to gather the lavender and bring it inside to keep our homes smelling sweet during the long months of closed windows and doors. It is the time when I feel my body relax and take on a slower pace and a time when I delight at the crunch of leaves beneath my feet and warm fleecy jackets. You have taken me on a beautiful journey with your words, Eileen, and your images have spiraled me into my own wonderful dreams of autumn.
Take care,
Sherry

You've walked me into Autumn before nature has given her the go ahead here...even in the mountains I searched for photo ops of fall and those wonderful warm colors I love the wqy you've chosen to have the colors fight for first billing, one more brilliant than the next.
Let's go jump in the leaves!
Love,
Taylor

How I envy those that can walk amidst beauty such as you have described in your wonderful poem, Eileen.

Our trees predominately turn from green leaves to brown, then fall to the ground. I DO remember my youth in Missouri...so many beautiful colors, as you have described! THANKS!
