I absolutely have just fallen in love with that picture. Getting a picture of a young spirit bear and its mother is just so amazing, breath taking. The poem is magnificent. I think that people and animals should live together like that instead of people slaughtering them because they don't want to share or are just to greedy and self centered to even begin to think that animals have a place in the world.

Ah, such harmony and balance in nature... Everyone knowing "their place" in the grand scheme of things, and being content with that. I often look at Willow and admire the fact that she knows nothing of pride or humiliation. You and I are definitely on the same page today. That is an unusual combination in the black bear populace...when I was young we hunted these poor beasts, I wish I could forgive myself for hurting even one...but know I killed many...still a cute picture & a wonderful idea for the content of this poem...Ed & Rufuz

I am so glad you used this picture to write such a wonderful poem with a most important message, Eileen. Animals don't seem to care about color, breed or even about disabilities. It seems to me, that they know the value of life and just keep moving in a forward motion. I know that many say that animals don't get to go to the same place that we do in the afterlife, but I don't happen to believe that. I think that we all go to the same place and that the animals teach us truth and honesty as well as unconditional love and strength to endure all that is placed upon us. In many ways, the animals are far more evolved than we are. Love is love, be it bear to bear, person to person or bear to person. All that inhabit this planet share so much more than we spend much time thinking about. Thank you for this excellent write, Girlfriend. You did a great job.

Ooh this one is great and perfect timing...for February is black history month and you've captured the meaning of living in unity and harmony with each other, not matter the color of our skin through yet another of God's creations...a beast whom many fear, yet she is gentle enough to love and accept a cub a complete opposite of herself.
