Poem Artwork

Art by-Jim Warren

I marvel at the resilience of
The wild horses
Seeing them in the wild as
They race the wind
In mountains laden with snow
Nothing stops their flow
I ponder the fact that they
Are on their own
No human can make claims
Of  giving them a hand
Yet they thrive year after year
Throughout our land
For  much of humanity they
Have always filled a need
Is it any wonder Creator called
them, noble Steeds

Asian wild horses are thriving in the radioactive zone near Chernobyl--so are wolves.

If bears, wolves, mountain lions and other predators weren't hunted to near extinction, wild horses may have had a tougher time.

As your poem reflects, they sure are beautiful--some of the best Spanish steeds of their time.

Utterly beautiful...breath-taking, really. Wonderful offering, Eileen. Man's crimes against the wonders of nature are so 'accepted' these days, one can't do enough to bring attention to our natural treasures (wild horses being a prime example). You are doing your part with flair.

I read this yesterday and gave myself some time to process this...the spirit lives in this poem and the graphic...the purpose in life is to see what Creator/Creatress has designed to give humans a balance of soul...tame and wild...without both merging into our personas, we can't live a balanced life...we need to be dormant at tranquil times and we need to be on the run with our manes in the wind kicking our heels up at other times....this poem, you know, really suits me, Eileen...

WILD HORSES: A poem as majestic as the "noble steeds" themselves. Thank you for capturing so much of their strength and beauty and sharing it through these lines,

America had One Hundred Nations, Bald Eagles, Bisons and Wild Horses.
Present day ranchers had lobbied to declare the wild horses vermin.
The America spirit is not only bent...its also broken.

What a gorgeous image to complement a worthy homage to these muscular beasts.

They also played a significant prophetic roll in Revalations.

They are magnificent creatures, Tiger Lily, and they have roamed our West for centuries - absolutely free. But soon, they too, will be just a memory, since our government is now allowing more and more of them to be slaughtered for foreign consumption.
