Poem Artwork

Another foggy morn in Californ--;-)

Thick pea soup fog enveloped me
in subtle shades of gray
As if some floating clouds had
come to spirit me away

Being swallowed up in a gentle mood
that filled me with delight
I hoped nothing would interfere
there was no need for sight

Until, uh oh! wouldn't you know
felt a furry thing rub my leg
The mewl said it had to be a cat,
what else would feel like that

Not to worry it was gone in a flash
things are easily lost in mist
All the mystery will soon be gone
everything will be sun kist

(it was a cat;-)

it was easy to settle in to the cozy atmosphere you painted for me -- until the cat startled -- this is what I can always find in your excellent poetry Eileen -- you quickly establish a mood I can get into with ease -- peace and love to you my friend -- JMW

:) Kitties are the best, and they seem to make the most of every season and weather, lol. Felt the sun on my skin reading this ending.

Lovely write. In fall and winter, the fog often swallows the river valley here. It seems as though I could open my window and walk upon it since it is below my home. Thank you, Eileen. Love and best wishes,

Regis

Holy cow, haven't seen a mist like that since childhood. Sure hope it was a cat, a little one. So cute Eileen and very enjoyable. Love and hugs, Bonnie
