Poem Artwork

The world knows it
As Saint Valentine's Day
And it is yet another holiday
Centered around
Relationships
(And eating),
But what about
Those of us
Who are the beloved
Of no one?
Should we not be granted
A holiday of our own?
I propose
That a day be set aside
To remind the world
That not everyone in it
Has a sweetheart,
A day set aside
To raise awareness
Of unclaimed
And broken hearts,
A day
When we joyfully do for ourselves
What no one else
Seems willing to do;
I propose
A Single Persons Awareness Day
To fall in August,
For there are no special days
In August,
And in the midst of summer
May we celebrate
Our individuality
With fine dining
And purchased gems
And, perhaps,
A chocolate extravagance;
Then, when the day is through,
We should put on our best silk nighties
For the person we need most...
Ourselves.

Like the mother of Forrest Gump said, "life is a box of chocolates," and specially on Valentines Day!

Good thinking if only it would happen. We can make it happen for outselves though any time of the year. I often buy chocolates to sate myself and flowers sometimes too. Now I am on a vacation to Vegas a long awaited dream come true in March.

Nice Idea, but a Silk nighty day sounds even better, or even week or month through out August.

VD is not all that I proposed on that day, surprise, surprise, only she didn't see the ring in her drink. She didn't choke on it, shame though, coulda saved me 5 years of hell. <---Did I just say that.

Everyone wants love and to be loved. Only Blokes love is not the same as the lasses kinda idea of love.
