THE WEB OF LIFE

"The interaction between all plant and animal life on this Earth is called the "Web of Life". Monkeys and birds eat fruit in the treetops and their spillage provides food and nutrition for life on the forest floor. Predators keep their prey's numbers in check, animal droppings cause new plant life, and the bulk of a hippo moving keeps the waterways clean and clear, etc. The loss of any species adversely affects the "Web of Life".
There is one exception: Humans!
We have allowed ourselves to become such a destructive and uncaring species that we have evolved to become the only species whose extinction would actually improve the "Web of Life", and that is a sad fact."

As a very old friend of Dino DiGiacomo I was very pleased to discover your post of one of his poems. I have been unable to locate Dino for many years and just discovered several of his early poems that he sent to me in California for safekeeping while he was traveling. Do you know how to contact Dino?
I'm sadly starting to believe that we humans may actually be earth's deadly parasites, and life on this planet would truly go on quite well without us around.
