I AM OKAY. This just came to me, and so, I write...
"LAND OF DESPAIR" ~~~~~ I walk underneath a bitter sky In this, my Land of Despair, Wearing a cloak of sadness With a load that's too heavy to bear. ~ I am all alone on silver streets In this, my Land of Despair, Tears are freezing on my face I wonder if God still answers prayers. ~ In the distance is a lonely bridge In this, my Land of Despair, It asks me to be its friend Because it's the only thing that cares. ~ I stand upon the slippery edge In this, my Land of Despair, Will I take that final step Or will they find me still standing there? ~~~~~~ (C) Copy written, 10 December, 2004, by Karla Dorman.

This reminds me of the story I saw on television about the cop yesterday that kept a woman from jumping off the bridge. Sometimes life does seem to get you down but we bounce back.
Powerful, gripping write that just rips out the heart when the reader takes in the words! Your writing has taken on a whole new level; continue to soar and reach higher!! Well done; BRAVA!!

You have touched a very deep emotion with this write. Glad your okay. I think it is good when we allow our thoughts to drift into all possiblilite and then write about it. You don't have to jump to have an idea what it would feel like. Great write.
