I am fine; this just came to me, and so, I write.

Poem Artwork

Once
I was ordinary,
But that was before,
before God breathed Life
into my soul
and I was born into greatness ...
I just didn't know it then.

And so I wasted all of these years
thinking I was nothing special -
a commoner among royalty,
used to a life of servitude;
a flea on a purebred's ass,
scratching out a comfortable life;
a feather floating on the ocean,
unwilling to make waves.

Now
that I am old and dying,
I regret not doing enough to
to make life worth
remembering; I will die
just like I lived:
quietly and all alone ...

or di na ry.

A wonderful heartfelt write
But I Do know And hope you ain't
leaveing us just yet
You have too much poetry within you
Still
It will take a life time
to allow it all to spill
Onto the parchment
that awaits all your wisdom.

Karla,

You've overlooked one tiny thing from your final description: the word "extra" in front of it....

Nicely written...

Peace and (((Hugs)))

You can be as ordinary or extraordinary as you think of yourself; or you can think of yourself as a special child of God's.

Wonderful! Of course, anyone who reads this knows that you are depicting someone else...you are anything but ordinary!

This is beautiful, Karla and written with the words of the sage poet that you are. We all have the power to feel as big or as small as we deem our self to be. Excellent poem!
Take care,
Sherry

i believe everyone experiences those moments in their life...this poem is a beautiful expression of it..but i wouldn't want to live it very often...nothing wrong with being ordinary, only the thought that it is not enough...

An "ordinary" is also a book of prayers and meditations. This would be well suited to inclusion.

"A flea on a purebred's ass." As Jack Benny use to say, "I'm thinking. I'm thinking!" - and when I finish thinking, Karla, the verdict will be, "You're a crown on the King's brain!" This one is truly a good'un! You do what I wish I could make myself do - and I continue to take essons from you. - B ill

Karla honey if you're ordinary then I'll have to go back to school to learn what the word means. This is top-drawer (and deep down you know it;-) Fine writing!

Oh Lady of the Light you are so far from ordinary that you should do another biographical poem of yourself titled as T>Kei suggests Extra-ordinary.
