Nature on a bit of a rampage, ain't she?

Poem Artwork

The sky, murderous;
blue-black violence
aimed at the heart like
the end of a gun.
Mankind can't escape;
Nature, unerring;
deadly accurate.
A master marksman
has us in her sites;
she means business.
We think we can hide;
she knows all of our
secrets; there will be
no getting away.
When it is our turn,
she will exact her
revenge; she is a
lethal assassin.
And we, unwilling
victims in her game.

Nature can appear quite cruel at times, which you have demonstrated quite well in this write.

When it is our turn,
she will exact her
revenge; she is a
lethal assassin.

She truly can be, but perhaps we are not 'unwilling victims;' perhaps our modern day atrocities against her have now riled her to the point where only revenge is on her mind. Quite a frightening thought.

Mother Nature as a killer...true but seldom thought about as an assassin, good write and works well.

Yes! Mother Nature put on her black dress of vortex weave and marched all across the southeast lower part of our country. She sure knows how to keep us on our toes although some of us don't want to dance.
I admire your emotional prose about the weather. We all are victims at one time or the other.
Love nd peace,
Susan

Excellent, Karla! your vivid assessment is original and right on the mark. Just last Sunday a tornado - for eight deadly minutes - struck in a neigboring town. It's one assassin who doesn't miss a target.

Great image.
