Poem Artwork

Greensky overhead:
air, stilled death except
for hail, shattering.
Tornado on its
way:  sirens announce
approaching danger
in screaming wails that
freezes the marrow
of the bones, setting

feet in motion - where
to run, where to hide??? -
Hear it roaring in
the distance - lighting
sizzles - thunder shakes
the bed under me -
that's when I wake up.
Only a nightmare -
can't get back to sleep -

When the ground vibrates and the blue sky disappears and angry clouds provoke the storm front...I'm in a shelter somewhere.
Ya just don't grow old being a fool as my dad would say.

Love the pic and the poetry!
Blessings and love,
Susan

So intense! I was relieved when I reached the end and found out it was only a dream. Those storms are scary things to live through!

A tatse of reality well penned Karla
Your picture there of dark clouds
Reminds me of curtains coming down
after an act of a horror play
Peace & love be with you

Relief that it's "only" a nightmare... but bad enough to be surreal. Sharp and intense, love the power in your opening words "Greensky overhead"... sounds like an SOS in itself. A StormSpinner best... TY Kate xx

Ah to experience such violent action from Nature is an experieence that is not soon forgotten and does come back to haunt us now and then...great capture of that theme.

Living in Tornado Alley doesn't help you to conquer your StormFear; yet writing/taking pictures does; and you do a bang up job with both. EXCELLENT pen and chilling image; I remember that storm verrrrrrry well! YIKES!! SCARY sky!! BRAVA, Karla, keep on writing/photographing; may you continue to conquer your StormFear!! I'm with you all the way!!

((((HUGS)))) and much love, your twink, Karen Lynn. :)

Recurrence or déjà-vu? that darn storm still continues to haunt you?
Dream of spring tawing with a peaceful murmur of melting ice and no twisters in sight...
I cup of chocolate also helps...
