i'm sitting here in the darkness of the night
terrified by dreams that woke me up in fright

look at the alarm clock...it's only three ten
i thought the nightmares were over...wrong again

i'm sitting here in the safety of my home
wonder if i should call someone on the phone

thought i heard a thumping noise...what was that sound??
heart beating way too fast...i've gotta calm down

i'm sitting here in my well lit living room
someone gets in...i'll nail 'em with this harpoon!!

shouldn't watch scary shows 'fore i go to bed
'cause the nightmares ensue...then i'm filled with dread

i'm sitting here,and i still can't get to sleep
'cause those scary movies sure gave me the creeps

dracula, frakenstein, all sorts of bad guys
invaded my dreams...thought i was gonna die!

i'm lying here, i'm back under the covers
from the latest dreams, trying to recover

i think i'll read a book...what harm can that do?
ooooh! stephen king's "the stand"! i hear that one's cool!!

we've all been guilty of this...heck, we don't
need to rent a scary movie, all we have to do
now is watch the news...there's enough scary
stuff going on in the world to give our minds
nightmares for years to come. ((((HUGS)))),
