Poem Artwork

the sky is bleeding:
looked out of the window
and saw red
seeping from its wounds,
coloring all in pain.

the sky is crying:
looked out of the window
and saw its tears
falling down the glass
as rain.

the sky is laughing!
looked out of the window
and saw a finger of lightning
tickling its belly and heard
a booming giggle.

the sky is sleeping:
looked out of the window
and all is peaceful ---
a silent night
and all is well.  =]

Great imagery, love the way you took lightning, something that tends to send fear through many of us, and changed it to something accompanied by giggling and tickling. Great juxtaposition--just an all around good poem.

I love your tight poetry. It says and describes so much, a thousand times more than the stanzas.
A rare honed gift indeed.

I wish all was well, but still, it is about time for more sensitive and non-political poetry I suppose, although it is getting harder and harder for me to write anything except Hussein-bashing / This was a very good poem, you had your thinking cap on when you penned this one, Karla . . .
