what do you really want me to say?

your precious little girl will not live through the night,
you weren't watching her, she fell a great height,
if you were a better mom, she might have a chance,
so don't blame me...with your rages and your rants,
your son was out drinkin', should not have driven home,
he suffered head injuries, his pupils are blown,
the monitor screen is indicatin' flat line,
what a waste...now it's only a matter of time,
because your "boy" thought that that he'd like to be a man,
joinin' a gang, carryin' a gun...what a scam,
he murdered someone...his home is now a jail cell,
welcome to jail, my man, with your homies in hell,
your daughter's tiny babe is too fragile to live,
thirteen's too young to be sexually active,
why doesn't she stay at home, be your little girl?
too many babies havin' babies in this world,
your little boy was hit, playin' out in the street,
i tried to save him, wouldn't admit to defeat,
i'm so mad inside, but can't talk to anyone,
dammit, this is one battle that i should have won!!!!
i just don't understand why you're livin' with him,
you like gettin' beat up? stop playin' the victim,
why don't you leave? you don't need that abuse at all,
stand up on your own two feet--GET OUT--get some gall,
someone's son...someone's daughter...burned in that fire,
some more bad news someone's fixin' to acquire,
it's gettin' so i don't enjoy my work no more,
it seems answerin' calls is nothin' but a chore,
your teenaged son only wanted someone to care,
no...you were too busy...when you should have been there,
he took his life, because he was lonely, depressed,
then everyone wonders why i'm angry and stressed...

i'm a policeman...fireman...or EMT...
when things go wrong...i did what i could...don't blame me.

Wow this is one powerful piece..
You know this mom knows how that feels to stand next to you little girls body that took a tumble once to high....and she died from that head injury....but that was not my fault...it happened at school...on a "jungly gym"..
Much love

Your voice spoke in a volume of regularity, but the words punched the heart with every blow being taken in, because it was so true. You write with ease and such anger that it's brought you to write one of the best poem Authors Den has read on such a topic as this.

Warm Love,
