That day, we learned who heroes are,
Not singers, athletes, or movie stars,
They're not famous & don't claim to be...
It's those serving our communities.
The police force & firemen, too,
The EMS & search & rescue,
Dog teams & their handlers, volunteers...
Let's hear it for them, give them a cheer!
They work thru the day & thru the night,
They work to ensure that we're all right,
When disaster strikes, they will be there...
Uniformed angels, answers to prayer.
Sometime their lives they will sacrifice,
That's when they've paid the ultimate price,
We'll remember each & every one...
They didn't quit 'til the job was done.

That day, we learned who our heroes are.....
These lyrics woke me up in the middle of the night several months ago, & I had to write them down.
This is dedicated to those that are dedicate their lives to saving others. They are the true heroes.

Thank you, again, for sharing. Our friend died on 9/11 and he was a firefighter with 3 young boys. This means so much to me.
