Who needs drugs, when God provides? :-) Best of all, it's free!

mom said to GO TAKE A WALK!!!!

so i did
i am NEVER COMING BACK
i'll show her
crying angry, bitter tears
in the fog
she just doesn't understand
HOW i feel

the grey mist
caresses my tear stained face
enfolds me
in a wrap-around embrace
i inhale
and feel the mist in my lungs
tension fades

the shuddering sobs subside

the vapor
sooooothes pacifiiiiies appeeeeeases (ahhhhhhhh!)
the M O N S T E R
that ROARRRRED, rared its ugly head
mom knows best
who needs a tranquilizer?

It's so helpful to walk when you are trying to get in touch with your feelings! I think it's the rhythm of taking steps.

Karla, I was one of your STUBBORN types...my walks would last all night, sleeping on the beach & eating what I could at friends houses, and when I got home, I got, "Oh, were you out, I didn't notice?" Never treat my kids like that, if I were fortunate enough to have any...enjoyed reading all the great reviews, apparently most parents were mature and took the better parenthood classes than my mother...Peace, Ed & Rufuz

Good one, Karla. You didn't threaten to go into the garden and eat a worm? LOL

Wonderful write. I have always found that a good walk returns me to being attuned to greater things than myself...

How I remember those walks; and half the time I was determined not to come back - ever - then I'd get hungry and race home! Great one!
