Jude,
Love your imagery and expression in this! You've hit
the Universal mark as well as the inner conflict mark,
which in essence is ultimately one in the same!
This is potent: "Running blood
From the bones
Of a deleterious body"
As is the whole poem! You opened another
one of those chambers!
The last stanza gives hope and a dream
that all of us share (or most). The way
our world is makes no sense and it is
madness. You've captured it well Ace!
Greed and judgement of others, can make us feel "good" about the bum, the drunk, and so many others... but someday, we need to feel their pain, live their lifes, and realize we are all brothers/sisters... their pain is our pain... excellent write
Serendipity - as I read this Kris Kristofferson was singing, "On a Sunday mornin' sidewalk/ Lord, I'm wishin' I was stoned/ "Cause there's something in a Sunday/ That makes a body feel alone."
..Oh goody! The 30-page review I just left somehow got lost in the post-button, so a chance to summarise: Feeling whacky still, read this first and thought of universal implications; read again and found something way more deeply personal: "heaven within the compass of a lover's arms; the shared heartbeat-thing"; whatever - the longing some of us seem born to is maybe some kind of prophetic agent that moves the world along its course; no amount of beer cans can shift this - not the right dimension! But all the power of God is closer than the shadow of your right hand and can be accessed to keep the Ark afloat... looking forward to June 2nd at this rate so my stars and brainwaves can unscramble a bit - be well! :)) Better, Kate... this should be no more than a measly 8 lines!! LOL K xx
kick the can, caress the heavens: I'll take the latter, but how I wish one swift kick would send humanity's bloody failures sailing into oblivion... I get it all - this poem's straining toward glory and its seedy finds in the gutter that looms so large some days it threatens to swallow that final hope. spoke volumes to me, Jude.
I read that the stars would be crossed until June 2nd I think and people would be emotionally sensitive. I haven't said much about this because I wanted to observe and see if folks seemed to be more in a funk than usual. Now I'm starting to wonder.
I like this poem, Jude, not the general mood because it's dragging downard, but the honesty and groaning for humanity in it. But then, those who do believe in heaven and blessings have hope. This is magnificant. From the quagmire all around us to the hope of perfection in the heavens. You truly do live in your poetry.

Seems i am not the only one walking around with deep thoughts lately. Sometimes a can needs a good kick and your just the fellow that can do it. Rest now......and then kick!
What is going on around us, Robert, is just stuff. We must take hold of our lives and learn to live above all that attempts to devalue our our existance here and all that distract us from our pathway of purpose. This is a time for the strong of spirit to join together and rise above the mire, to understand that if we don't, we allow a distance to form between our self and our Creator. The more distance we allow, the lower we slip and the more unhappiness we welcome into our lives. Excellent poetry and a message that hits home with all of us. Your images are intense and captivating.
Take care,
Sherry
You and I and many others, Jude, wait for that day. This write has the feeling of a ghostown. Empty, haunting and lost in an abandoned yesterday. Very, very fine...
Wow!I'm sure we all can identify with this one.
A profound look at the bleak wasteland that humanity
has made of civilization. Thank God we can hope for
"The life force Of all the heavens we long for"
Exceptional message/poem!
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
