Overcoming Addiction

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are addicted to emotion
Addicted to the devotion
Of outmoded ideas
Of what we visualize as reality
Which are really commonalties of reason
Historically engraved
Onto the synapses of our collective dream
For nothing is really as it seems
Nothing reflects and who we really are
Except in the depths of quantum physics
Collectively we create our reality
There is no devil except the evil within us
And who’s to say what’s good or bad
Isn’t really all relative?
And what we have brought upon ourselves
Without judgment to be seen?
We transcend the essence of stars
While living within them
To experience the total memory
Of god within us
Of the joyous good we strive to be
To recall what we have always known
That we are the totality
We are addicted to our self
The desires, ambitions, the daily routine
And though we refrain
From what we cannot see
We have the potential to rethink
The methodology of our being
Pulsating from within our thoughts
And enlightening our veins
We are addicted to learn to withdraw
From the blinding fix
We give to ourselves every day
And to rewire the stimulus
Of all our perceptions
Dear Jude,
A brilliant write, you have penned a complex thought process.
We do have the potential, but it is fear of the unknown that restrains some of us to venture beyond. I often wonder why we are so fixated by "good and bad" what makes it good or bad? Children are born without fears, or knowledge of "good and bad" we are "taught" (I do not mean that you leave all to chance and hope for the best, we are only taught what our parents knew, and were themselves taught) Age/time, the master of education, if we are receptive enough, will enhance the ability to "rethink.. The methodology of our being"
Warm hugs
I see you are a follower of the light and ascession.
I would like to print this if I may.
You have hit on so many truths and the striving to make oneself better inspite of the distractions of our own created reality
But we are here only to learn aren't we?
Robert,
Because we are human, we have the ability to make things happen..Dreams, are they not the same sometimes as goals?, we have them, and it's up to us, to either make them come true, or, watch them fade away.
We have free will..and with it comes the choice to either believe or not...and so I choose to believe...
As always Robert, your pen is flawless.
You always end on the positive. :-) It's too late at night and I'm far too tired to tell you what I see and have seen. It's too early within the illusion of psychic evolutions for me to testify of realities you have not dreamed. Loving you always, Shaman. ~~Nordette
Oooh goody, a mind matrix... "Nothing reflects and who we really are / Except in the depths of quantum physics"... well, that much must be true, we are so bound up and into the universe around us. In truth, I reckon we can actually really know very little about the depths of ourselves and our being. BUT, for certain sure, there is, I think, the spiritual counter-tensions of good and evil in the created world and, though we may personify them, they are external to us and outside of our control although very much interactive and integral in the course of our lives. As Sherry says, as agents of free will, the power that we DO have is in opening the doors to one and the other - usually in all of us a mixture of both. The greater power I believe is beyond us - both good and bad - but the limited power that we have, as flesh and blood, is inside of us to predetermine how we interact with it, and to what extent. I am not a great one for "paddling to heaven under my own steam of self-amelioration" because I am not sufficiently able to do that for myself. God is so much bigger than anything we can aspire to - He must be, otherwise He wouldn't be (or deserve to be!) God! Mine is a belief in the power of the sufficiency of grace and, hard to swallow as that is for us "sole-traders", I am sufficently convinced by its efficacy to have confidence in throwing my lot in with it! That's not to say that I have no responsibility to do my bit and evolve along with what is also "freely given". It's a balance, I think. I knew I shouldn't have left this until after a glass or two of wine; it just makes me worser. As for addiction, you bet. I am already sweating about what I am going to do for inspiration when I'm away in Spain for the next two weeks, taking my brand new laptop cos I have MASSES of work to do while I'm gone. You're going to have to be writing your thoughts in the clouds, Mr Forese, cos I won't have no internet connection in my shepherd's hut in the hills behind the coast at Tarifa! OK,OK... I admit it; I am totally unevolved and need rewiring... thank you, Jude; this is a circuit-blowing write! :)) Kate xx
Jude,
I see the character I call the devil, has seduced you, and the character I call God has some work to do;-) Some characters I know huh! The world would be so much better off without them, so man can have his way.;-)
Jude, this is an eloquent and masterfully written poem
that describes in excellent terms how the addiction to wrong thinking can be detrimental to our way of life This is very motivational, and inspiring. As always you cut through the fog of muddled minds to clarify your postition, and do it beautifully.I agree we have the potential to rethink our methods, and that we can rewire the stimulus. However I disagree strongly with your second(2nd) verse. The devil and his evil was on this earth long before man ever stepped foot on it.
Once we realize that we have the ability to become/change all that we are and all that we believe, we become addicted to the very power we possess. This realization is what makes great people great and evil people evil. We need to be ever conscious that we can hurt others if we carry it all too far or in the wrong direction. We must never lose sight of the fact that our rights end where another's toes begin. We must learn to wear our knowledge, wisdom and power well and go forward in peace. Excellent introspective and evolving write, Robert. Happy 4th to you.
Take care,
Sherry
The potential of rethinking, changing perspectives is very exciting to me. This is how a dream becomes reality. Although I will admit the taurus in me has to be banged on the head a few times when it comes to changes LOL. Its hard not be become addicted to the emotions of the changes isn't it? great write.
