Heavenly Directive

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The finely defined transparencies
Are all that’s left
Of seeing through what remains at best
A glimmer of hope
Inside a quixotic request
To refresh life’s scope
Of commonality
The culture of doubt
Makes everyone shout
Setting the fires
Of uninvited circumstance
What rational being will dance
On the flames
That so inspired them?
The world is getting colder
My dreams are growing bolder
The anguish and despair
Seem beyond repair
But not if you’re rebuilding
A collective tomorrow
Expressed by some poets
And envisioned in the hallowed
A glimmer of hope
Can be found in civilized perspective
Only through patient evolving
And heavenly directive
Doubt, so closely linked to fear; both enslave us, as do their sources: ignorance and cruelty.
Another resonate write, Jude.
can feel the effort in this and in the larger task to respond to the glimmer of hope. "The anguish and despair / seem beyond repair / but not if..." that's the crux the wheel of our hope turns upon. Dawn
to view the light through the darkness is the creation we are all praying for. Wonderful write full of hope.
Just so, Ian, and our hope doesn't lie in who governs us or what laws are passed, but in the power of God moving through the life of each one of us, person by person. And we connect, of course, to the life of God by looking up! :)) Well, that's my story and I'm stickin to it. Fantastic natural rhythm and flow to this one, Jude and... my goodness... rhyme for good measure. This eddies about the mind and mental palette like a good wine-tasting. To be able to incorporate questions and answers together and keep the speech patterns so natural is... pretty good. Yep, reckon doubt is cold and hope warming, so glad that your dreams are winning! :)) Would be good if the Dreamers could start a Global Warming of a more positive kind, eh? As worldly values start to wear like a moth-eaten old cloth, the qualities of the latent and shrouded spirit within start to shine forth. I like this - the "patient evolving" in this context makes me think Lazarus and the unwinding of inhibiting grave clothes to make room for resurrection. Guess perhaps world is in need of the recreation of resurrection, rather than the sticking-plaster of short-term "healing" for once. The visionaries to usher this in need to stand up... Bet you've had your Call-Up papers, Mate!? :)) TY Kate xx
Evolving....? You must be mad my boy. Don't you know its a scientific fact that.....
A good heavenly directive is found in the Book of Thomas, one of the Gnostic Gospels, essentially it advises us to stop stargazing and look inside ourselves.
We are on our own, there is nobody going to clear up the mess unless we do it.
Molto ispirando, Jude, in the closing. I like the build of the poem. It would be beautiful we could pull ourselves together and work for the common good. ~~Nordette
Very excellent write. Always to be remembered that there is "something larger than us going on", but that we are a part of it all.
I agree, Jude. Keep your own little house in order with a window
looking out and heaven and the stars, and just wait for the good things to happen. k
This poem speaks volumes not just about the decay of civilization but of the veracity of human spirit and the hope that we will improve as years go by.
You have made the difficult decision, the enlightened decision, Jude. Society has found that depression is an easy way to not have to take on the responsibility for improvement. Just play the futility card and people will gladly agree with you and sign up for your team. To carry on with hope in your heart and the knowledge that peace on earth and a better life begins with me is a huge responsibility; but those of us who can, will gain our satisfaction in teaching by example, one person at a time. The road to enlightenment is a long and difficult one. Excellent and much needed write and point of view, in these most interesting of times.
Take care,
Sherry
Picture this. Eleven stone chariot wheels moving to the beat of gongs. The poets break coconuts over the stone wheels. Thousands of surging poets pull the chariots down the procession route, their task made easy by the fervor of their collective devotion. Twenty miles on down the coast, seven stone horses leap forward, "celestial coursers," revelling in their strength in the imagery of the Vedas, pulling a stone chariot across the sky, planned as the vehicle in which this poet man we know of, sun god with hair of votive flame, makes his celestial poetic journey, asks us to help out to rebuild is his request.
Very enlightened.I'm happy to see your determination to forge ahead in the face of so much negativity out there! We need those who have the spirit wisdom, with the ability to put it in dynamic writing such as you do, to lead many out of the darkness of futility. Thanks for staying faithful to your calling, against all odds!
My next poem contains some of the same sentiments.as your poem;) ...Eileen
