The sense of revolutions, over and over, shows the amounts of sustained mental effort involved in meditating the good things that are at the essence of being truly human... or humanitarian, at least. This effort stems from and is sustained by the "good heart" that has been sown into each unique individual to start with, longing to reach out to each other individual with whom it comes into contact. What very much strikes me is the sense that, one-on-one, of course we make the appropriate heart-response to need... but, corporately, when the individual is replaced by "the masses", then impersonal theorising takes over which removes the need and urgency from that initial reaction. So often we fill our bellies with a load of hot air (... so to speak!) whilst yet being hungry for truth and reality. Great sustained metaphor here, Jude, and majestic sense of the quixotic... but of course! :))

An excellent message for us all that live in a bountiful country. One would hope this message would tug at the heart strings of those people that could make a difference. Well written. R

This is some damn fine poetry, Jude. Poetry which stimulates the brain to really think about what is being said. I kinda like the laid-back "preachy" tone to it also, you are saying, "Hey! You out there! It's okay to be human and loving." Well, to that I say, Gotta love it!
Oh Jude this is Kewl Mate, totally Kewl.
It's like taking the Gospel to the streets, and preaching to the homeless, who are shivering with cold and starving in their bellies.
Without giving them a darn good feed of soup and buns at least.
And a place to sleep off the street.
Pretty pointless exercise eh.

A poem of incredible metaphors! You capture what is lacking in the conciousness of humanity. Creative ideas need actions to make a difference. Action usually falls far behind the eloquent words.

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
