Tales of yore.

Poem Artwork

Wandering in the forests and glen,
As I do on occasion near The Old Castle.
A bit weary, for my trek can be lengthy at times.
On a large rock I sat myself so as to see down,
Upon a grove of strange looking trees.

Seated on the convenient rock,
Thinking about the days events.
Being quiet I was watching my cane poking at the moss as I lit my pipe.
When I thought I heard laughter,
There, I heard it again.
It was coming from the direction of the trees.
To my most glorious surprise, tiny creatures of light,
Laughing and playing Hide and Seek between the trees.

Winged, they were swift, Fairies, I suppose,
Or something akin.
All aglow seemed to be their skin although,
They were translucent.
Happiness and playfulness exuded from their very existence.
For long ere I watched the more fun I was having,
To cause me to laugh out loud.

They stopped, saw me and were gone instantly.

Oh, many an early eve has been spent on that rock since,
Waiting for another glimpse.
But as yet ‘tis not to be.
Causing me to ponder,
“They were real, I know what I see,
Were they real, or just a wistful me?”

In an other world, time travel with your mind, to earlier more wistful thinking and feelings, I could almost see them myself, so picture perfect you set the scene, bless ya.
