Once, you said, you want to be on your own Ok, then be you don’t need my blood to keep your heart pumping My heart beats ,barely a steady silent rocking motion Back and forth, like the old rocker we had remember the old rocker the one out frount, and how, all by itself it would start, rock, back and forth and the squeaky porch floor or
Like the rocking horsey, we used to have After the kids climbed off ,it always continued

That rocker is hypnotic. I had one, too, when I was young. This evoked many memories of childhood...

and isolation. . .a regret. ..
the stammer effect....of remembering..."back and and, back and forth". ..such a real thing.

Such a sweet motion that makes me recall our own front porches long ago. WE always had a swing and it creaked. My grandmother lived with us for a few years and her rocker was a throne for the entire neighborhood. She was the queen and she'd rock, tell folk beauties and have all the neighborhood children agog at "Those days". I heard her rocking just then while reading your poem. Thank you!

Reminds me of my granny's rocking chair and how sometimes after she passed we were sure that we could see the rocking chair slowly rocking, and yes we had one the hobby horses too, hadn't thought about that in some time...well done my friend, great imagery and expression!
