Do we really deserve life on the other side?
If we so readily murder all that is now,
What would make us little angels, if the wings are not fitted down here deservedly in the hell we create, if we don’t stand up for life? Especially for those angels not born yet?

Enough air to survive the day,
Oh so smug and safe we feel,
To our own delusions we fall prey,
When one more ounce of air we steal,

Yet mother earth she’s drowning,
She’s drowning in our thoughtless ways,
From chimney stacks the skies are frowning,
Stern warnings of our coming days,

Drilling, boring, fracking,
We penetrate her heart,
Her innermost we are attacking,
From which as one we are a part,

We pray to heaven and dear God,
Please help us lord we’re failing,
But not a finger lifts our lot,
To help to fix what’s ailing,

God helps those that, help themselves,
At least this what I heard,
But we’d rather let some busy elves,
Ask us to help, we think absurd,

Poison not just wolf and rat,
But now the air, and frack the ground,
All that is we now attack,
No place where paradise once found,

Dark, two twelve and thirteen more,
Paradise we seek in death,
Yet the one that came before,
Of it we made a total mess,

What is with man, the wit?
Can he not see his own demise?
Does he not care or give a shit,
Wallows deep in his own lies,

A lot of crying I do see,
When children hurt, still innocent,
I wonder though what it will be,
They suffer, die, we caused their end.

All things this planet is as one,
It is the mother of us all,
This treasure does to all belong,
To arms, her children I do call.©20/12/2012

You, esteemed Poet, are like a firefly with a strong message!

We live in a world where the leaders hear but do not listen, watch but do not see, eat but do not taste, talk but do not speak, live but have forgotten how to love.

May millions read your words!

With respect,

Carol Phelan Aebby

So sadly true, and what a wretched place we will be leaving to future generations who will never get to see the earthly paradise that we once had.

It does seem as though Earthians are learning nothing and are intent on self-destruction. I think, when that happens, Mother Earth will breathe a sigh of relief at last. Love and peace to you, Jasmin,

Good thoughts about a bad situation. Everyone should do their part and picking up our mess has got to start. God created the world in a week. Man is destroying it even as we speak. OK another poem. Thank you Jasmin and Merry Christmas!

Borderlands of the Spirit by John Herlihy
