Poetic License

A poetic license to write,

verse in longing,

verse bleeding ink,

A muse within a poets heart

She seduces with desires,

her beautiful words,

beat his heart,

fast and slow,

like love it comes and goes,

or so the poet says,

with soothing form,

The muse dances poetically

A poetic license to write,

so rhythmically,

rhyming every other line,

or every fourth or third,

of course, there is a verse

A poet knows, who writes freely,

free verse is the muse’s breath,

long and short,

life itself,

could only a poet love

A muse flying in free verse,

only lovers touch,

A poetic license to write,

verse for the day,

verse for the night,

A poet writes of love

The moon and sun

touch in this way

A poet bleeding free verse

so beautifully, the ink runs

his love is free,

to touch passionately,

so seductive, this paper

whispers, with his heart
