This be the yarn, bout Fern La Pone,
No matter how hard she tried, she had no man of hern own.
Fern be one of the purdyest Gals you'd ever meet,
But the poor soul was cursed with STANKY FEET.
She was always orderin thangs through the mail,
To make her feet smell better, but all failed!
She soaked her feet in Violet toilet water,
Hern feet just smelled like them violets were fertiltzed, not like they otter.
In wintertime, Fern had to sleep with hern feet outside,
Stray cats buried them, cause they thought that somethang died!
Fern's foot stank could kill a moose!
The stank done rose up when hern brogans came off and herfeet got loose.
Granny commensed to sniffin, while puffin hern pipe,
She said," Pa, bout time to move the one-holer, it's gettin a might ripe!"
Pa said," Taint no outhouse, yore a smellin!",
" It's that thar youngun took her brogans oft, for how long, thar aint no tellin!"
Granny plained," Well shoot Fern, don't tell me Ya shucked off yore brogans!"
" Chile with them stanky feet, you aint never gonna get no man!"
When Fern shucked off hern brogans, buzzards circled the shack,
Granny yelled," Shoo Wee Chile, put thembrogans back!"
On day an ole boy come down from Skunk Hollar,
Had hisn hare slicked down, wearin a tie and a collar.
He had come down to spark Fern,
Didn't make no never mind bout her stanky feet, we soon learned.
Fern suited ole Goober well,
Cause livin in Skunk Hollar all hisn life, Goober had lost hisn sense of smell!
