I stir as if a dragon unfurled
Lifting my tired eyelids toward the sky
In my eyes I see the world
Finally for all it's worth.

Awakened as if to say
I am feeling clarity on this day.
Can I shine like once before
knowing that death is knocking at my door.
~*~

I came upon a lovely lass
who talked me out of slumber's task
and into brilliant light I ran
and now I am under her command.
~*~

Filling emptiness with passion
love and light her fashion
Breathing life back into me
and now this dragon is set free.

The brilliant rays of a new sun emerged,
Through the edge of the world
From the horizon east
Bearing mystic energy
Into my healing soul.

As my weary eyes open
My heart has been wounded
Not from the love
Of the loveliest of lass
I bow before;
But from a Knight's chivalrous sword
Thrust deep into my breast
Seeking to be noticed,
upon a journey's quest.

I Dragon heart, had promised
The fairest of lass, that tends my wounds;
I'll abstain from devouring Humans
Though I am able, to snuff a life
With a mere snort from my nostrils.

My heart won't allow it, for it's fondness
Of the compassionate heart, she shares
With me;
Thus I am called "Soft"�
Humans often refer to us
As "Beauty and the Beast"!
