Two climbers climbing on a steep rock face
Found eagle’s eyrie high up at the peak
Two little eaglets nested in that place
With probing eyes at the climbers to peek.
“Ah eaglets!”- climbers greeted the young birds
‘N losing their grip into the deep they fell
And died. Their souls once again climbed upwards
Towards the eaglets, yet again to yell:
“Ah eaglets!” - and the souls floated content.
The eaglets looked and quietly they yawned.
“Ah eaglets!” – souls gave one more compliment…
…But eaglets, being wise, did not respond...

As – judging by the comments received – only one person managed to get the point right, below I give the
Solution to the riddle, or what the eaglets might have said if they were not wise.
It seems almost everyone missed the point
- For the climbers the church bell sadly tolls -
What eaglets might have said could disappoint;
It wouldn’t have been wise to respond: “Ah souls”.
