Call him Captain America,
He's American as they come;
His life has never been easy,
Most of the time, not even fun.

The secret life that he has led,
Has brought him where he's at today;
All for the country that he loves,
He wouldn't have it another way.

Recruited right out of high school,
Seems like such a long time ago;
Trained in how to lie and to kill,
Sent to places you should not know.

In looking back now he wonders,
If it was really worth it all;
Those he loved hurt along the way,
Just because he answered the call.

Family and friends will never know,
All the terrible things he's done;
Places around the world he's been,
All the small battles that he'd won.

For God, family and country,
Done to keep Old Glory alive;
All those times called away from home,

Simply called a secret soldier,
Fought in battles he cannot share;
Not a parade to honor him,
A Veteran's badge he'll never wear.
