Sophistication for a Cavern Soirée

Poem Artwork

Wine and cheese, the foods of love’s lesson

But only if your nose is full of congestion

A wine to compliment each cheese but one

A slice of bread to cleanse the palate

A fine Champagne to accompany the brie

Smoked Gouda requires a fine Riesling

Mozzarella, Ricotta, and Parmesan need a fine Chianti

Cabernet to suit the Camembert

Just good strong beer for the Limburger please

The Stilton Blue would love a Tawny Port or a little Sherry to support

And Bardolino mates well with Asiago

Sauvignon Blanc is just fine for the Cheddar, Sharp

Could someone give me a hand getting up?

My head is spinning just a bit.

So many wines! So many cheeses!

PeeWee Ed how many cases did you stock?

Never mind that, how much have I drunk?

If someone could, would, should, stop the cave from spinning!

A delicate hiccup from the lips

Oh my! I think I may have had too much

Wine and cheese at the Creek Cave Poetry Recital

Please make the cave stop spinning!

We'll get a very friendly cave dweller to escort you to the Plush Cave Powder Room - but please keep your eyes closed while in there - don't want to scare you out of the recital!

And I think we'll make you an Honorable Judge of the Hopefully Many Other Finely Ripened Cheese Poems that are Entered - you sound like quite an expert. It Ain't Easy, Bein Cheesy!
