New Year's Poem

My parents always said that you should do positive things on New Year's Day because that is what you would do the rest of the year. Seems like a good practice.


 

 
What you do on New Year’s day
you will do the whole year.
I don’t know if that is true
but that is what I hear.
 
It makes perfect sense to me
something I try to do.
So I pass along this thought
a suggestion to you.
 
I want poetry to be
a background every day
to look for positive thoughts
as guides along the way.
 
I hope you’ll find some things
that will bring joy and love
and help others receive
peace from God above.

Beautiful write my friend, I too have heard that what we are doing on New Years day will be an example of our life throughout the year. Hmmm, what did I do...oh yeah, I went out to eat with my family, and enjoyed two of our grandchildren spent the night with us...and I rang in the New Year with my hubby and watched the ball drop in Time Square...not bad for a prediction of the upcoming year...spending time with family. Enjoyed the write as always. May God bless you with a wonderful year!

:) :) That made my night, what a lovely little poem-hope it's true, as I spent time with family, cross stitched, visited with my boyfriend, watched Mass on tv with my cat, then some old movies-BLISS!!

As God's soldier down here, you know better how to cope with every new year (the last one was miserable, good riddance!) and the wishes that will be granted. Homeless Veterans and the sick poor are the ones I have thought of and try to do something about at year's beginning.

Larry- Happy!!!! New year! All Year through in all yo saym write and do! As you started too! I bet your Mom is Smilin Down on you! I believe the same. To try and find some sort of Peace and Harmony throughout the day and try to add something NEW in what you say and do! To share it is even better I hope to convey!
