He may or may not
be your favorite but he is
the one most forgotten
most undervalued and most often
he swallows his words--
Mom always had the last
The faithful benchwarmer
calm warrior, man of steel
silent watcher by day
demon fighter by night
Doesn't usually wear his emotions on sleeve
but he is the third leg on the stool
he wipes all tears, calms all fears
that's a Dad for you!
So, today, when you think
of everything he did or didn't do
remember it may not be too obvious
but someone else loves you too as much as Mom--
takes pride in the things you do
He is the forever coach who never runs out of
a "You can do it" speech
and if you're one of those
whose Dad didn't live up to the example
here's an opportunity to say a prayer for him anyway
whatever you do
just think of Dad
especially in June!
(Think of him all year long!)

Just this morning, thinking of my life, I realized THE TRUEST BEST FATHER in my life was and is and always will be our heavenly father God. He IS all I have to comfort, guide, protect and provide for me.
So, I honor Him extra specially this month, along with blessing the special men in my life who are wonderful fathers to their children.
My Dad drank way too much, but still had many good qualities. Those are the things we should focus on.
Children of all ages, forgive your Dad for offenses, real or imagined. He needs your love and respect. I love you, Dad. Say it now while you still have the opportunity.
Thank you, Bernice, for the great reminder of the importance of Dads.
Love,
Connie

I lost my beloved Father when quite young; then years later was blessed with a wonderful step-father...my Dad...and hold them both dearly in my heart.

Oh, my - breathtakingly beautiful - and all the more poignant, having lost mine - no, I haven't lost him - even though he's no longer here, physically, he's in my heart - my memories - well done -
