I think I will always be intrigued by the events surrounding World War II. It never ceases to amaze me, or my children, that someone could hate people so thoroughly for their differences... not to oversimplify or make light of the plight of the Jews, but they were not the only ones affected by the hatred of Hitler. I often wonder how many of us would have escaped his hands if he had succeeded in his aims or an Aryan Nation. Diversity is a beautiful thing and teaching our children to love diversity in others is so incredibly important...

We do not, sometimes, realize how truly blessed we are to live in a time and a society where education is there for the taking. Still, as an educator, there's that constant nagging thought: teach! By all means (and I do mean ALL means) teach! but in all that teaching, be sure you're teaching children, not stuff, and too, that you're teaching your children to learn--to think for themselves--to lead...
