And then there are poems written for when an 'Angel' cries...for my friend, on this 5th day of St. Valentine's

Poem Artwork

Did you hear the news today?

the sun is wearing a scarf

it's dark outside and I keep bumping into edges

where are you my love?

will you come for me if I cried?

blinded by the pain you caused, my tears burn like acid

can you see my heart is bleeding bullets and that it's killing me inside?

where are you my love?

will you come for me if I died?

I am freezing in this winter-blunderland of yours

why won't you reach out to me and tell me it ain't true

wrap me up in your arms like before, protect me, keep me warm ?

do you hear the rain beating on my back

do you see the sun spitting fire at me?

I can't move, your darkness has bolted my legs to the ground

I can't scream for you have silenced me with your lies

you won't come, I know you won't

it's all true , I know it is

your cold, cold heart has frozen this LOVE of mine

and now I lay B~R~O~K~E~N at your feet

like a delicate glass rose...

Bernice,
You bring your friend's pain right smack in the middle of your reader's heart. Amazing poetry my sweet friend. It is so good to have you back here in the den. Missed you much!

Much peace, love and light,
Amber

So poignant and sad. A Valentine with a crushing ending. Kudos to the writer.

Hahaha dear Jerry, I wrote this poem for a friend of mine who shared her pain with me, it's my way of standing in her shoes and saying the words she couldn't express because I 'felt' her hurt.

Let us suppose you are merely exercising your talent as a poet when you wrote these lines of despair and hopelessness. Such agony is within these lines, and such a contrast to those you wrote even yesterday. I prefer to believe you were just giving into to your poetical license and tomorrow you will be back with us as you were before.

Standing On My Knees by Pinkstone

I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work. I wanted to purchase a sukiyaki sub. I parked my car in an area of
