Wordless Whispers

I lie awake listening

to wordless whispers in

the dark, watching as their

bodies cast languid shadows

on the moonlit wall.

 

I arise, a silent voyeur, moving

closer as they sway in lover’s

dance, once more listening to

wordless whispers of the pines.

I love watching the dance of trees as they sway to the rhythm of nature's music. I love the swish of their branches as well.

Nice thoughts Dawn...there is so much to absorb from your poem...whether the view of Nature or the grasp of whispers ...we only need to escape into the very silence of both...

I love those moments; I love my evergreens and their unique and mystical voice. This speaks to my heart. I am drawn to the "alone.ness" that is made less "lonely" through kinship with the natural world.

Just love how the title flows off the tongue.
And the context is lovely. Night, soft breezes
through the pines, a clear sky, ones heart and mind
attune to wisdom and direction ... very soothing.

Just beautiful, Dawn. I'm glad to see you post a poem. It's even more impressive to know this poem comes out of a transitional period for you. Stress crushes my creativity. This poem reminds me of my poem By Candles' Light. In it, two flames dance, and I'd seen that part vividly when writing it. I saw your dancing shadows just as vividly, and there is a slight sense of eerie to this piece, too. Awesome work!

This is almost breathlessly in its scope, Dawn. Funny you should incorporate pines in your poem. I wrote one yesterday which has "a bed of pine straw bed." Again, this is pure poetry.
