Poem Artwork

A small buggy crosses over a flowing stream
Inside sits a tailored woman on a wooden beam
A team of work horses trot along at quick pace
To outrun the outlaws, who have given chase.

The innocent maiden stitches up a new seam
For the blanket she makes for this horse team
Pushing the waxed needle in and out like lace
Hurry to finish it, before the end of the race.

The sound of gunfire streaks through the air
And all she can do is sit and quietly stare
Unsure what to do, as the buggy slows down
She hears the hoopla with an angrily frown.

Looking out the window and down the road
She sees a team of horses with a wide load
And sitting perched on top is one hunky man
So she smiles and begins to make her plan.

Reaching under her dress she hikes up the hem
And adjusts her bosoms, in fact, both of them
Before leaning forward to look in the mirror
So she can fluff up the bustle upon her rear.

Taking out her compact with pink powder full
She pats up her cheeks and then pinches and pull
Until they shine in the dark, showing off her glow
To a handsome man who is to be given a show.

One last whoop and the carriage comes to a halt
And the driver falls off dead, truly not his fault
And with long legs exposed, she opens the door
Before stepping out onto the packed sand floor.

Checking to make sure he is watching she tips
Over in a dead faint with a smile upon her lips
Waiting for him to come and check things out
But he doesn’t come, instead making her pout.

Pretending sickness, she wipes at her wee brow
But he has no sympathy, sending over a cow
Making her shriek aloud and jump to her feet
Before stomping in temper, she turns on a beat.

Slamming into the carriage, she closes the door
Only to hear him laugh and plans to even the score
So she grabs up her wash water and tosses it out
And then grins proudly when she hears him shout.

Quickly the coach door is swung open nice and wide
As he steps through the door way standing astride
He reaches out for her threatening to tan her backside
Until she steps back into the corner, a place to hide.

No longer feeling quite so mighty, nor so brave
She yanks away, not wanting to say she gave
But his decorum has left him, and he yanks her along
Across the rough ground, ignoring her blistering song.

Kicking and pulling, she tries earnestly to escape
But he holds tight and then binds her up in tape
Before walking over peeling off a width of strap
And returns swiftly and gives her a quick tap.

Yowling more from embarrassment than pain
She bites his leg causing him to groan and strain
Before leaning down over her, grasping her chin
He plants his mouth and drives his tongue within.

Tossing and turning, she moves her head aside
Not wanting him to see the tears slowly slide
Cursing under his breath, he rolls her away
And stomps into the sunset, without delay.
