In the morning when I wake up
There are times I feel like a duck
because in front of me there is large bill
One for lights and one for phone
one to pay for hearth and home
sitting on the table in a growing hill
Bills to keep my stomach fed
and another for the bed
In which I bought on a credit card
More are coming in each day
and I wonder if I can pay
for life with bills is really rather hard
I have another for the dryer
it serves as a reminder
that even wearing clothes is not for free
And there is one from the I.R.S
as you can probally guess
The bill they send just for bieng me
Because of bills I think
is why my paycheck shrinks
and is driving us all slowly insane
They send them every day
and want money yesterday
and yet act so confused when we complain
I think that bills are behind
the downfall of mankind
and a plague upon the rich and poor
They are a bane upon all life
they cause worry and cause strife
when they send a forest's worth of bills to my door
I think bills are a pollution
But I know of a solution
I think I'll just write Washington D.C.
The environtmentilists will be astonished
that when bills are fianally abolished
There will be no need to save the trees
