Autumn calls
Us all

Echoing Soul’s splendor with a voice of
Wintry might
As gold and russet leaves
Take flight with Spirits of Summer’s end
That carry the scent of Fall’s birth
On voyages of gusting fancy and echoing whimsy

Evoking images of Past and Future
On the Eve of the Day of the Dead

Dark and misty nights separate ghostly days
The veil between the worlds grows thinner
And Dreams of Loved Ones passed from this
Plane of Reality
Become Visions of ectoplasmic wonder
That threaten the insecure
While reaffirming the continuity of Life
To those Scions of Faith and Light

Lost Souls wander ethereal plains
Searching for what was lost
Calling to those left behind
Their anger
Fear and loneliness
Bearing heartbreak with each
Soul-wrenching moan

The Days grow shorter
The Sun distant and cold
The nights swirl and pulsate with wild abandon
And other worlds threaten our own
Imposing alternate paths of Choice and Destiny
Separated from the Present by only a thought
That rises into Consciousness
Birthing Fear and Denial
While the cold breeze wanders through
Halls of detached solitude

Forsaken

Searching for Love’s secrets
Searching for Winter’s end
Searching for Spring’s promise of renewal
Searching for Soul’s awakening
Searching for Self’s satiation

Peering out of dusty windows
Yearning to hear the Truth
To know the Unknown
To relieve the fear of the coming Storm
And the reinstatement of the Soul’s reign

Knowing through God-born prescience
That Autumn ever calls
Us all
