Tired? Oh yes, I am tired and sleepy.
I should be in bed before I get weepy.
Yet here I sit in front of the computer.
My husband's asleep and he couldn't look cuter.

So why am I here in the computer room awake?
Gee, I wish I could give a rational answer, for pete's sake!
I guess it started out that I wasn't all that tired,
then I begin to write and I got all wired.

I wrote two poems between midnight and noon today (oops, that is, yesterday.)
I worked on my website…and its looking good, I must say.
We went out for a drive and looked at the New England countryside.
I am happy to live here and say that with pride.

We bought a lemon-ade from a child's homemade stand.
She only wanted 25 cents, but we left a dollar in her hand.
We bought an large iced coffee from a New England institution.
Dunkin Doughnuts is everywhere! We all have a daily (or more) coffee infusion.

We stopped at a farm's produce stand that sat by the road.
I bought some unshucked corn, a cherry pie and we took home our load.
Tonight, we dined on freshly picked corn on the cob with butter. It was great.
For dessert, Cherry pie loaded with a side of ice cream was there on our plate.

Afterwards, we watched some old movies and cuddled on the couch.
Now, here I am up alone…yes, I am feeling like a grouch.
So after I finish this poem about what we did today.
Goodnight is the only thing I sleepily have left to say.
