I cry sometimes when I am down.
I cry sometimes when I feel tired and brown.
I cry at sad movies and when my feelings are hurt.
I cry when my husband is stressed and to me is a bit curt.

I don't mean to be so emotional and weepy.
It's true , I cry sometimes when I am sleepy.
I have tried to be someone who I am not.
A dwarvish trait or two is what I have got.

Can someone change what he or she is deep inside?
I wish…because from this, I can't run and hide.
I have always been the kind to be sensitive to pain.
Whether it be my own or not, tears begin to rain.

I am sure there isn't yet an antidote to crying.
So here I sit…weary and sighing.
My husband says that he thinks I am adorable.
I think this trait is truly deplorable.

I remember, at seven, being upset over "Old Yellar", the movie.
I had my first talk about life and death afterwards, it wasn't groovy.
I cried when, not long after this, a dog had to be shot for having rabies.
I cry over sappy movies, romances and brand new little babies.

In writing this, I have realized I am a weepy person indeed!
Maybe I should be looking for a self-help book to read.
To be on the fair side, I do laugh quite a lot.
So, maybe another dwarvish trait is what I've got.

Whatever the emotion gives me…a laugh or a frown.
I am not going to let myself get me down!
I will not try to change who I am or who I am not.
I will be happy, regardless, with I have got.
