Seeing Her

Beauty becomes her, as the stars share their glory, lighting each step she takes towards the innocence of love

The warmth of her commitment is felt by all who touch her, though within her heart the storm never ceases to rage

Seeing her, I see one, who like the lightless multitude in the heavens shine, her light continues to be seen by those willing to discover

Seeing her, I see love’s potential fulfilled in ways that only dreamers view through the colored lens of a dream

In her eyes, I see a child of exploited potential longing for a treatment free reality

In her expression, I see one who was left to die in the filth of abandonment, spent and cast aside by her debauchers

In her anguish, I see one who endlessly lives the need for that balm so simplistically spoken of by others

Seeing her, I see love and hate, bitterness and contentment
joy and sorrow, pain and delight, prison and self-determination

Seeing her, I see a fearful reflection of myself, and at times, I’m not sure I like what I see

Sorry for the format. I can't seem to get this to do what I want it to do. Oh well... lol.

This is bittersweet beauty, Lori - like the author herself. I'm a new kid on the block here, and new to writing, but if your friends below speak truly about you - and I'm sure they do, I can't help but agree with everything they say. But you can't BE the mirror which reflects gorgeous light and stare into it to see for yourself who you are at the same time! Just believe what others are saying THEY see and some day that truth will take hold in your own heart and move that vital six inches from hearing it in your head to being a living reality in your inner being. Journey on, Lori - we're all travelling with you... KB

Will you ever accept that you are all important? I hope so because when you finally do, you will see what really is, and not what just appears to be real.

Lori I very much like what I see! A well rounded person with strength of character, beauty of thought, and the will to go on through all adversity...A woman who doesn't realize that she has become all of these wonderful things...She needs to take another look and leave the old look behind...Outstanding write!;-)

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
