Great, very good piece and I hope it is true for you, "thorns give way to rosebuds." Lori there will always be thorns, they never go away. If it's not one thorn, it's another. This is just the way life is. But there has to be something inside us that fights the prick of thorns. I've been fighting thorns all my life but I refuse to give in to lifes thorn sticking and be an unhappy person. Some people just accept what is handed to them. Life will always hand us sour lemonade. On one of my poems you stated that there wasn't enough sugar for some of us. Well you're right, sometimes the sugar bag goes completely empty. It is in the heart and soul where we have to learn to produce our own sugar to help sweeten life up. This is what seperates the man from the boy and girl from the woman. If we're going to be in this world we might as well have a little joy. There's no use living and being sad too, suffering twice. After the years pass, and they will, one should be able to look back over a troubled life and say, "life beat me good but it didn't totally defeat me. It never took my happiness totally, thank God!" love, peace&happiness. G
