Soft light, filtered through green
speaks to the forest floor.
Ferns and flowers compete for her love
then find a place of co-existence.
Moss plays hide and seek with her touch,
unaware that progress plans an end to their game.

The sun sets once more upon the concrete,
and for a moment, shadows of the past
rise again.

You've woven words well here and made me remember why I was so pissed when they razed the woods up the street.

I got lost in your spell here, and then trappled by the end, excellent! Made me think of home, where everything once wild and free is constricted now by strip malls and parking lots. Great work, Blessings ~ Shell (saving it too!)

Immediately I was taken aback by the beauty of the words; then quickly saddened by the outcome of the meaning. Excellent write!
